President Margvelashvili takes part in cultural events with his spouse in Japan
President Giorgi Margvelashvili and his wife Maka Chichua have visited the city of Kyoto within the official visit to Japan.
Giorgi Margvelashvili attended the Jidai Matsuri Festival, one of the biggest festivals in Kyoto, which takes place on October 22 every year in the Old Imperial Palace. Over 2000 people dressed in exquisite costumes from the various periods of Kyoto history participate in these national events.
According to the President’s Adminsitration, Giorgi Margvelashvili and Maka Chichua will attend several cultural events during
their visit to Kyoto. Ambassador Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary of Georgia to Japan, Levan Tsintsadze, Ambassador of Japan to Georgia Tioshio Kaitani and his wife Harue Kaitani hosted the President and the First Lady in Kyoto, where they arrived together with the Georgian delegation by the Shinkansen high speed train. The Vice Governor of Kyoto, the city mayor and a girl dressed in national costume welcomed the delegation at the Kyoto railway station.
