Aftermath of a 5-point storm in Adjara

Coastline of the Adjara region has recently weathered a 5-point storm. Powerful and prolonged rainfall resulted in rivers breaking banks and flooding nearby agricultural facilities. In the village of Dologani, Kedi municipality, the river has washed out the foundation from beneath a road, thus drastically reducing the available space for vehicle transit.

In order to repair the damage caused by the elements, a Crisis Control Operative Center was created in Batumi. Rescue groups from the Emergency Situations Department have been mobilized from Tbilisi to Adjara and Imereti regions, carrying appropriate equipment and vehicles to help overcome the storm’s consequences and provide help to the injured.
