Three self-taught Georgian singers who became an internet sensation

“This Georgian folk song will entrance you” – was the title for a news report by a well-known internet newspaper The Huffington Post on a song “Apareka” by “Mandili” trio, published on the 9th of September. This is how internet users were introduced to Tatuli Mgeladze, Shorena Tsiskarauli and Ani Tchintcharauli. The video, which was uploaded on Youtube on the 4th of September, accumulated almost a million views and over a thousand comments in just 10 days. Most of the
comments were made by foreigners, who could not hide their amazement at the girls’ performance.
All three teenage singers are self-taught. The trio plans to make studio recordings of three songs in the future. Nascent internet celebrities shared their thoughts and goals with “Palitra TV”.
